Summer Learning Programs

Parents,

The Key Learning Centre is making it’s last call for registration for their Summer Learning Program for students entering Grades 1 – 9 in September 2018. We are very close to adding one more class to enjoy all the fun learning activities, so would like to invite you to put your name on a waiting list in the event there is enough interest to run another class.

Friday, June 15th – Hot Dogs and 90s Day

The Fun Day has moved to Monday; however, we will still have a hot dog lunch tomorrow, Friday, June 15th. Students need to bring snacks as a hot dog is not enough for lunch. Extra hot dogs will be on sale for $1. The canteen will also have a few smaller items for sale.

90s Day is still a go for Friday, June 15th. This is the last chance for you to earn points for your colour team. Remember, some of the teams are only 7 points apart!

Grade 6 field trip is also postponed until Monday.

ALS Walk & Coin Drive Challenge

ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a motor neuron disease that gradually paralyzes a person until they are unable to control their muscles. You are probably already familiar with the Ice Bucket Challenge. Charlie Lake School has challenged SD 60 schools to raise more funds than they do.

We are doing a coin drive to raise money for ALS. You can donate any amount by coin, cash or cheque. As well you can donate online with a credit card.

Please let your child’s teacher know if you have donated this way so that the amount can be recorded for your child’s class.

Top class by total and top class by weight will get to dump a bucket of ice cold water on one of the admin or other staff members.

Deadline for donations: Thursday, May 31st

We will do a walk and ice water dumping later in June.
