Dots, Dots, Dots!


International Dot Day, a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration, began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom toPeter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot on September 15, 2009.
The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”.

It has been an exciting and busy first two weeks of school.

Rock and Roll Literacy

It was great to have author, Sigmund Brouwer share his enthusiasm and excitement for reading and writing! He presented Librarian, Mrs. Kindermann with her own Story Diva t-shirt.

Summer Break

Have a wonderful summer break!
The school will reopen on Monday, August 31st, 2015 from 8:00-3:30pm.
The school will be closed on Tuesday, September 1st and then reopen on Wednesday, September 2nd.

Fundraising Success

The students, the staff, and the parents from Alwin Holland were busy raising funds for the SPCA and to support Natalya Christian with her Bluey Day participation.  Coin drives, ‘pupsicles’, hot dogs, and popcorn sales were all successful but the opportunity to pie a teacher/administrator was probably the highlight of the month.

Alwin Holland earned 2nd place in the District Badminton tournament on April 30th and May 1st.  The players had fun and played well.

Happy Spring Vacation
